WooCommerce product recommendation quiz tools compared
Three tools come up when a WooCommerce shop wants a "help me choose" quiz: RevenueHunt, Typeform and QuizMage. They are not three versions of the same thing — they differ on whether they can see your catalogue, whether responses are counted, and who writes the quiz. This page lays out all three, including where ours is the wrong answer.

The short version. There is no overall winner here, and this page is published by QuizMage, so read it with that in mind. The three tools are shaped for different jobs and the right pick follows almost entirely from your platform and your volume.
RevenueHunt is the established ecommerce option and the only one of the three that connects to a Shopify catalogue as well as a WooCommerce one. Typeform is a general-purpose form builder — excellent at forms and surveys, but it cannot see your products. QuizMage is WooCommerce-only, runs on your own server, never meters responses and builds the quiz with AI, but it launched in 2026 and has no track record yet.
What to look for
Five questions separate these tools far more usefully than a feature list does. Answer them for your own shop first and the shortlist usually picks itself.
- Does it know your catalogue? An ecommerce quiz tool connects to your shop and can point at a real product. A form builder cannot, so its "recommendations" are outcomes you write and maintain by hand.
- Are responses metered? Some tools charge by how many people take the quiz, and it matters just as much what happens when you hit the limit — a prompt to upgrade is very different from a form that stops collecting.
- Where does the data live? On a hosted service the vendor runs it, scales it and holds the responses. On a self-hosted plugin the data and the uptime are both yours.
- Who builds the quiz? Writing questions is quick; writing the matching rules that map answers to products is the slow part, especially on a large catalogue.
- What platforms are supported? The hardest constraint of the five, and usually the one that eliminates two of the three options immediately.

RevenueHunt
What it is. A hosted product recommendation quiz service that works on both Shopify and WooCommerce. You build the questions and the matching rules by hand, and RevenueHunt runs the quiz for you. As an ecommerce quiz tool it has a substantial public track record: 20,000+ brands, 550+ five-star reviews and a 30-day money-back guarantee.
Pricing. Priced by monthly quiz responses. Free covers 100 responses a month, Basic is $39/month for 500, Pro $99/month for 1,000 and Premium $199/month for 2,500. Larger plans start at $299/month with unlimited responses. Exceeding your plan prompts you to upgrade.
Best for. Anyone on Shopify — it is the only one of these three that integrates with a Shopify shop. Also the right pick if you want a vendor with a long public track record, if you would rather someone else host and scale the quiz, or if you want full manual control over every question and every matching rule. If your volume is low, the free 100 responses a month is a real free tier on a live shop.

Typeform
What it is. A general-purpose form and survey builder, not an ecommerce tool. It has no knowledge of a shop's product catalogue, cannot show a real product with its live price and has no add to cart. It is typically embedded through an iframe or a redirect. Its strengths are real and well earned: excellent design and UX, a huge integration ecosystem, and it works on any website or platform.
Pricing. Priced by monthly responses. As published in July 2026, billed annually: Free covers 10 responses a month (reduced from 100 in February 2026), Basic is $25/month for 100, Plus $50/month for 1,000 and Business $83/month for 10,000. Growth plans start at $199/month and Talent plans from $149/month. When the monthly cap is reached, the form stops collecting and later visitors are turned away.
Best for. Surveys, research, lead forms, job applications and standalone forms — and any site that is not WooCommerce or Shopify. If your workflow depends on integrations, or the form itself needs to look and feel excellent, its design and its integration ecosystem are the clearest reasons to pick it. It is simply the wrong shape for recommending products from a live catalogue.

QuizMage
What it is. Our tool, so weigh this section accordingly. A WordPress plugin for WooCommerce only, running on the merchant's own server. Responses are unlimited and never metered on every plan, including free. The AI reads your real catalogue and is constrained to it, so it cannot recommend a product the shop does not sell, and every quiz result shows a real product with add to cart. Requirements are WordPress 6.4+, PHP 8.0+ and WooCommerce 8.0+.
Pricing. Free (€0) gives you 5 ways to match, AI-written first 3 quizzes, lead capture and local reports, but it is build-and-test only with no commercial licence. Pro is €19/month or €190/year for one live shop, 30 AI-built quizzes a month, 8 ways to match and cloud reports. Agency is €49/month or €490/year for up to 5 live shops and 100 AI quizzes a month. Credit top-ups are €9 for 20, €39 for 100 and €149 for 500; one credit builds one quiz for a shop of up to 250 products, and using your own OpenAI key halves the credits. Credits are spent building a quiz, never when a shopper takes one. 14-day money-back.
Best for. WooCommerce shops with enough traffic that metered responses become the deciding cost, that want quiz and lead data to stay on their own server, and that would rather describe the quiz than build the matching rules. Not for anyone on another platform, and a harder sell if you need a vendor with a proven history.
Which should you pick
By scenario, rather than by score:
You are on Shopify
- RevenueHunt — the only one of the three that integrates with a Shopify shop
- Typeform works on the site but cannot see your products; QuizMage is not an option at all
You need general surveys or forms
- Typeform — research, lead capture, job applications, standalone forms
- QuizMage is not a general form builder and does not cover any of this
WooCommerce with real traffic
- QuizMage — responses are not metered and results end in add to cart
- RevenueHunt remains the safer pick if a track record matters more to you
Very low volume
- Any free tier, and decide later
- RevenueHunt's free 100 responses a month works on a live shop; QuizMage's free plan is build-and-test only
Where QuizMage is weaker
Since this page is ours, the drawbacks belong on it too:
- New and unproven. Launched in 2026, with no track record and no review base yet. RevenueHunt has 20,000+ brands and 550+ five-star reviews.
- WooCommerce only. No Shopify and no hosted standalone version, so two of the three scenarios above rule it out on their own.
- Email support only. No live chat and no account manager.
- You own the hosting. Unlimited responses only go as far as your own server does, and uptime is your responsibility rather than a vendor's.
- Shorter guarantee. 14 days, against RevenueHunt's 30.
- Free plan is not a live plan. It has no commercial licence, so unlike RevenueHunt's free tier you cannot run it on a real shop.
Common questions
Which quiz tool knows my actual product catalogue?
RevenueHunt and QuizMage both connect to your shop, so results point at real products. Typeform does not — it is a general-purpose form builder with no view of your catalogue, no live prices and no add to cart. That is the main dividing line.
Which one should I use if I am on Shopify?
RevenueHunt. It supports both Shopify and WooCommerce, is used by 20,000+ brands and has 550+ five-star reviews plus a 30-day money-back guarantee. QuizMage is a WordPress plugin and runs on WooCommerce only, so it is not an option on Shopify at all.
How do response limits differ between the three?
Typeform caps responses and stops collecting at the limit, from 10 a month free to 10,000 on Business. RevenueHunt meters quiz responses from 100 free to 2,500 on Premium and prompts an upgrade when you exceed them. QuizMage never meters responses on any plan.
What is the strongest argument against QuizMage?
It launched in 2026 with no track record and no review base, unlike RevenueHunt's 20,000+ brands. It is WooCommerce only, support is email only, its money-back window is 14 days against RevenueHunt's 30, and you are responsible for your own hosting and uptime.
If WooCommerce is where you are
The free plugin builds and tests quizzes on your own catalogue at no cost, and the AI writes your first three. Upgrade only when you go live.
