Typeform alternative for WooCommerce

Shops usually leave Typeform for one of two reasons, and neither is that Typeform is bad. Either the monthly response cap stopped the form mid-month, or they realised a form builder has no idea what they sell — so the "recommendation" at the end was a paragraph they wrote by hand, not a product.

Last updated 18 July 2026 · Competitor prices are as published by Typeform in July 2026 and are in USD, billed annually; QuizMage prices are in EUR. Verify current pricing before deciding.

The short version. Typeform is very good at what it was built for. It is a general-purpose form and survey builder with excellent design and UX, a huge integration ecosystem, and it works on any website or any platform. Nothing on this page is an argument that it is a worse product.

It is a different product. For a WooCommerce product recommendation quiz it is the wrong shape of tool, for two reasons: its plans meter monthly responses, and when the cap is reached the form stops collecting and later visitors are turned away; and it is not ecommerce-aware, so it cannot show a real product at its live price or add anything to a cart.

QuizMage is a WooCommerce-only WordPress plugin that runs on your own server. Responses are unlimited and never metered on every plan, the AI reads your real catalogue, and every result ends in add to cart. If you are not on WooCommerce, or you also need surveys and general forms, stay where you are.

Difference one: the cap stops the form

Typeform meters responses per month. As published in July 2026, billed annually: the free plan allows 10 responses a month (reduced from 100 in February 2026), Basic is $25/month for 100, Plus is $50/month for 1,000 and Business is $83/month for 10,000. Above that, Growth plans start at $199/month and Talent plans from $149/month.

The number that matters is not the price, though — it is the behaviour at the ceiling. When the monthly cap is reached the form stops collecting and later visitors are turned away.

For a survey that is arguably correct behaviour: you wanted a sample, you got your sample, and stopping protects your budget. For a product recommendation quiz sitting on a live shop it is a different story, because the people being turned away are shoppers, and the month it happens is the month you were busiest.

In fairness, Typeform's per-response cost at volume is genuinely low. Basic works out at roughly $0.25 per response, but Business is about $0.0083 — under a cent. The objection is not that responses are expensive. It is that they are counted at all, and that running out has a visible consequence for your customers.

QuizMage does not meter responses on any plan, including the free one, because the quiz runs inside your own WordPress install rather than a vendor's service. A busy month costs exactly what a quiet month costs.

What QuizMage costs instead

  • Free (€0) — 5 ways to match, AI writes your first 3 quizzes, lead capture, local reports. Build and test only; it does not include a commercial licence.
  • Pro (€19/month or €190/year) — licence for 1 live shop, AI builds 30 quizzes a month, 8 ways to match, cloud reports.
  • Agency (€49/month or €490/year) — up to 5 live shops and 100 AI quizzes a month.
  • Credit top-ups — €9 for 20, €39 for 100, €149 for 500. One credit builds one quiz for a shop of up to 250 products, and bringing your own OpenAI key halves the credits used.

Worth being precise about what a credit is, because "unlimited responses" invites the question: credits are spent building a quiz, never when a shopper takes one. Published quizzes run free, however many people go through them.

The honest counterpoint is that "unlimited" is only as unlimited as your own hosting. A hosted service like Typeform absorbs traffic spikes for you; on QuizMage that is your server's job, and your responsibility.

Difference two: a survey tool has no idea what you sell

This is the deeper problem, and it does not go away by paying for a bigger plan. Typeform is not ecommerce-aware. It has no knowledge of a shop's product catalogue, it cannot show a real product with its live price, and it has no add to cart. It is typically embedded in your page through an iframe or a redirect, sitting alongside your shop rather than inside it.

So a "product recommendation quiz" built in Typeform is really a set of outcomes you wrote and now have to maintain by hand. Add twenty products and the quiz does not know. Change a price and the quiz is wrong. Sell out of the thing it keeps recommending and it keeps recommending it. The shopper reaches an answer, then still has to go and find the product themselves.

QuizMage takes the opposite approach: the AI reads the real catalogue and is constrained to it, so it cannot recommend a product the shop does not sell, and every quiz result shows a real product with add to cart.

That constraint cuts both ways, and it is fair to say so. Being locked to your WooCommerce catalogue is exactly what you want for merchandising and exactly what you do not want if your outcomes are not products — a content recommendation, a consultation booking, a downloadable guide, a routing decision. A general-purpose form builder is more flexible by design, and that flexibility is the whole point of it.

Who should stay on Typeform

Most people reading this page should, at least for part of what they do. Typeform is a strong tool and the list of things it does better than QuizMage is not short:

  • You are not on WooCommerce. This is the simplest one. Typeform works on any website or platform; QuizMage is a WordPress plugin and is useless to you otherwise.
  • You are running surveys or research. A fixed monthly sample sits comfortably inside a metered plan, and Typeform's design and UX are genuinely excellent.
  • Job applications and lead forms. Typeform is well suited to both, and neither needs to know anything about a product catalogue.
  • Your workflow lives in integrations. Typeform's ecosystem is large, and this is a category where QuizMage does not compete.
  • You want a beautiful standalone form. Design and UX are Typeform's clearest strength, and a standalone form is what it was built to be.
  • Your volume is genuinely small. Under a hundred responses a month, Basic at $25 is uncomplicated and the caps never bite.

Who should switch to QuizMage

The switch makes sense in a narrow, specific case: you run a WooCommerce shop, the quiz is a merchandising tool rather than a research instrument, and you want it to end at a product in a cart rather than at a paragraph. If your quiz gets real traffic, the metering question decides it on its own.

Stay on Typeform if…

  • You are not on WooCommerce, or run several platforms
  • You need surveys, research or job applications
  • Integrations are central to your workflow
  • Design and form UX are the priority
  • Your outcomes are not products

Switch to QuizMage if…

  • You are on WooCommerce and staying there
  • You do not want responses counted at all
  • Results should be real products with add to cart
  • You want the quiz and lead data on your own server
  • You would rather the AI draft the quiz than write it

Where QuizMage is weaker

Worth saying plainly, because you will find this out anyway:

  • It is new and unproven. QuizMage launched in 2026 and has no track record and no review base yet.
  • WooCommerce only. It needs WordPress 6.4+, PHP 8.0+ and WooCommerce 8.0+. There is no version for any other platform.
  • Email support only. No live chat and no account manager.
  • You own the hosting. Uptime and performance of the quiz are yours to manage, not a vendor's.
  • Shorter guarantee. 14 days, against the 30 days offered by RevenueHunt, the closest comparable ecommerce quiz tool.
  • It is not a form builder. For surveys, research and general forms, Typeform is the better tool and it is not close.

Common questions

Can Typeform recommend products from my WooCommerce store?

Not from your live catalogue. Typeform is a general-purpose form builder with no connection to your shop's products, so it cannot display a real product at its current price or add anything to a cart. You would hand-write outcomes and link out to product pages yourself.

What happens when I hit Typeform's response limit?

The form stops collecting and later visitors are turned away until the next billing month or an upgrade. On the free plan that is 10 responses per month, on Basic 100. QuizMage never meters responses, so a busy month costs the same as a quiet one.

Is QuizMage cheaper than Typeform?

At 1,000 responses a month Typeform Plus is $50 and QuizMage Pro is €19; at 10,000 Typeform Business is $83 against the same €19. Below roughly 100 responses a month the difference is small, and Typeform's paid plans start lower at $25. Compare current published pricing before deciding.

Should I keep using Typeform for anything?

Yes, for most things it does well. Typeform remains a strong choice for surveys, research, lead forms, job applications and standalone forms, and it works on any website or platform with a large integration ecosystem. QuizMage only replaces it for WooCommerce product recommendation quizzes.
